What our guests are saying...

Hi Judie,
We had a lovely stay,

Judie,
Thanks so much for a wonderjul place to vacation! It was truly quiet and refreshing! Thanks for the restaurant recommendations. We really enjlyed FATZ! (Even used take-out and came back here to enjoy!)
Sitting on the front porch Sunday morning we saw a huge buck (6-8 point). It made our trip! Monday we rode the parkway, had lunch at Mt. Mitchell and a walk to Linville Falls. Any other bikers who come- we highly recommend highway 80! Note:Not for new riders!
We certainly hope to come again-but if we never make it back-we will always cherish this weekend in our memories.

Judie,
Aside from all the obvious luxuries of "camping" in this amazing cabin, the location is wonderful. It is a perfect place to take day trips up and down the Blue Ridge Parkway. Having some of the "what to see" brochures here already saved us a lot of time and headache of trying to decide what to see. We restocked/ updated several of the brochures...We literally grabbed 2 of everything wherever we went., so you are well set for other guests!
We certainly lucked out finding your place to stay. All is so peaceful. Even enjoyed hearing the trains in the distance. We had absolutely great weather and were nourished by the gorgeous "fall" light coming in the windows each morning! You have a beautiful cabin, well built, the water, heat and sense of stability is very relaxing. The best of luck in the continuation of the "Sarah's Song Excursion!

Thanks,

Judie,
What a charming little hideaway you have! Bruce and I have had a wonderful weekend re-connecting with our Sisk relatives, remembering long ago trips to Nebo with my mother and all children. We used to visit my great-parents home (purchased by my mother) on the Lake James Road.
We are very taken with this wonderful cabin that is just right for 2. It's quite a treasure and your unique and thoughtful touches have make us big fans. We hope to return when it is "porch sitting weather".

Thanks for your helpfulness and warm hospitality.
Bruce and Kathy
ps. Loved the train-great memories of our kids putting pennies on the tracks and running excitedly out the door at the sound of the whistle.

Judie,
Thank you for being such a great hostess!! We enjoyed being your guest here at Sarah's Song. We loved it and enjoyed the cozyness of the cabin. We found it to be clean and well appointed-all we needed and more. The quiet of the woods was just what we were needing. You are great at giving directions-we will never forget our day hike at Roan Mountain. Best of all was going to sleep with the heavy sound of rain on the tin roof and waking up to snow on Christmas Day. We were happy to help you with your other cabin. We hope to be back. This was a great Christmas and we will cherish the memory of it always.

God Bless,

Judie,
I must say that as the last guests of the year, my wife and I had an excellent time! Your cabin is so perfect and inviting that our trip was difficult to leave behind. It is ideally located. We were able to go to Linville, Blowing Rock, and Asheville with ease. The highlight was days spent touring the Blue Ridge Parkway! This parkway (especially Beacons Ridge) is remarkable to all Sarah's Song Guests. If you have children along a must see is Asheville's Western NC Wildlife Center. Thanks again for the hospitality!

Our Best Wishes,

Dear Judie,
We enjoyed our quick little get-away weekend from the record heat of South Carolina. My husband spent hours on the porch enjoying the woods and breeze. We were able to take short day trips and return in the evening to a relaxing environment. Thank you for keeping a little piece of nature for us to enjoy.

Judie and Future Travelers,
We were headed to the 'Outer Banks' to check out our new motorcycle trailer and to get in a quick get-a-way weekend. The fires diverted our plans and in 24 hours notice we ended up here. (For those who might not know or remember-lightening started a fire in one of the wildlife refuges-the peat remained hot and smoke has been an issue for weeks). So we were headed for the beach and got mountains instead. Happily, Judie and the cabin did not disappoint. We got to see rabbits (ok but they are cute), pileated woodpecker-very cool, heard a whippoorwill-amazing sound! Cooked some great meals, rode the Blue Ridge Parkway which is majestically beautiful and basically relaxed-MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! Hope everyone has as good a time as we did.

Thanks,

ps To nature, Mother Earth and World Peace! Safe journeys everyone

Judie,
Thanks for all your hard work. Anne and I really enjoyed ourselves. I wrote a little poem on the back of this paper that I tore out of the back of the Sarah's Song Cabin book since there was no book for the cottage. I hope you don't mind. Feel free to copy it in the cottage book if you get one or use it any way you like, after you correct my spelling. I never could spell. Thank you for all you did for us! Here is the poem:

The Cottage

In the Carolina Foothills
near the town of Nebo
on the edge of the woods
overlooking a meadow

sits a quiet little cottage
As pretty as you'll see
with the amenities of home
all anyone would need

But what I love most
is what is not there
no phone, no computer
no worries, no cares

a place to relax
and enjoy life in peace
a place where your mind
is always at ease

Its so hard to leave
a cottage so dear
But a piece of our hearts
will always be here

Sincerely,
Wayne and Anne

Judie,
Thank you so much for the hospitality! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sarah's Song, and we appreciate all you did. The seclusion and easy access to many attractions made for a great stay. We really enjoyed Linville Caverns along with the kids. We would love to come back here when our schedule allows.

Thanks again,
Drew, Molly and kids

Judie
We want to thank you so much for making your little cabin for a safe haven. Our deal (trying to purchase a little place on Lake James unfotunately fell through but the relaxation we found from your little cabin was true comfort to help take away the pain. For such a tiny place, your cabin offers all the comforts of home. It's very easy to see the love you have put in every little detail. Thank you for being you and putting a part of you into every inch of the cabin. Was wonderful getting to know you.

Judie,
Just a little note to let you know how much we enjoyed staying in "Sarah's Song." Its so homey with all the right touches. Thank you for recommending Little Switzerland Inn for our Anniversary Dinner. The food was delicious and the view breathtaking. If you ever go to South Jersey, please look us up. We're only 10 minutes from the beach and have a place for you to stay.
